I just created an Ele and I'm going to use Me as my second profession. Would it work to have a build using Arcane Echo and then a powerful nuking spell like Meteor and have other spells that compliment it? I was going to invest in Inspiration Magic to steal Energy from my foes and then use it in my nuking spells. Would this work? If it does, what's a good sample build so I can think on the right track? Thanks.

of course it would work
do the drill ^^
arcane echo + echo + "nuke skill"
and put the 3 skills on the foes e voila ^^
wouldnt bother with the inspiration personally
and there's better way to do damage ^^

I wouldn't ae meteor... too many exh... If you have Shower then it would be ok, I'd rather use Dual Attunement and AE Rodgort's Invokation that does high damage, is aoe and has a low recharge time

Not sure I would bother with stealing energy through Insp Magic. You should be fine with smart use of glyphs and attunements for energy management.

Only good Inspration Magic spell for eles is[auspicious incantation],and yes Arcane Echo can be very useful for using spells like[savannah heat] 2x.

Thanks for all the help and for the quote above, I don't have Nightfall yet...

Considering that you are all saying that with proper energy management, I won't have to use Inspiration Magic, I think I'll go for Domination Magic (which I'm good at playing,

) instead so as to kill off monks and let the group die in an AoE hellstorm.

Instead of going /Me to steal energy from foes and to use [[Arcane Echo] to copy a spell, it might be better to go /A and use [[Assassin's Promise] to quickly recharge skills and gain energy back. But if you must stay /Me, it's better to use [[Auspicious Incantation] with something that costs a lot instead of trying to steal energy from your foes. I suggest [[Deep Freeze] since its 25 energy so it gains a lot back from Auspicious Incantation, it snares for 10 seconds even with 0 in Water Magic, and snaring is good when you're using nukes which are mostly AoE DoT.

Invest the points you would have invested in the mesmer lines to energy storage and then you should have by far enough energy to create a AoE hellstorm (i love your wording xD) and pick off the monks at the same time.
A party isnt a one-man-band, and if you really want to create hell, get some of the other members to get the monk

Thanks. I realize that a party isn't one person, but I'm solo obsessed, so technically I am.

Anyways, I've always been used to being the sole killer of monks in both PvE and PvP, but I'll take your suggestion to be a utility player when needed.

The only problem... What should I invest in in Me? I don't want to be anything else and I'm not trying to be stubborn, I just want to try out something new. I've played Me before, but I want to try it as a secondary on something I've never played...

well, Me is a good choice just for the ability to [elemental attunement][fire attunement][aura of restoration][arcane echo][incendiary bonds][rodgorts invocation][liquid flame][meteor shower]

or even [[email protected]][echo][arcane echo][cry of [email protected]][phantom [email protected]][shrinking [email protected]][ether [email protected]][no skill]

Alright. Everyone wants me to use [Rodgort's I], but I don't have characters that have gotten that far into Prophecies... Time to multi-campaign my characters!

Thanks for all the input, so I guess [AE] is one of the better Me spells as I guessed, but I don't see any use in anything else, so I'll echo chain everything and watch my energy management (even though I have tons of points in Energy Storage so far...).

Iferno has a good idea. You could use [deep freeze] if your in a heavy melee area, but I would recommend swaping to [Maelstrom] if you in a heavy caster area. Great for 10 seconds of interrupts even at 0 water magic.

Daze is on the right track here for ya, I if you do not have Rodgorts invocation or access to liquid flame I would replace them with [fireball] & [phoenix] altho Rogorts Invocation works well with arcane echo and always completes a nukers skill set nicely (imo)!

Mes is an excellent choice for your secondary profession and I would encourage you to follow through with that decision. You will not be disappointed with ele/mes combination. However I would also like to discourage you from simply using straight fire through the whole game. Earth and Wind have alot to offer for begging ele's too.
